On this page you will find a partial list of Quaking Aspen’s client projects since our inception in 2008.

Avery Dennison Corporation

Office product manufacturer Avery Dennison has a strong, if quiet, dedication to sustainable practices, as is evident by going through the Sustainability section of their website (linked above).

Avery came to us looking for a product-level carbon footprint, but left with a more complete product lifecycle perspective. With a partner, Quaking Aspen helped three of its divisions understand the goals, inputs, procedures, and results of product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and performed a qualitative LCA for one of its consumer product lines, its PVC-Free line of binders. Avery used these results to guide critical materials decisions for this and other product lines.

CLF Ventures

CLF Ventures is the consulting arm of the Conservation Law Foundation, New England’s oldest and most influential environmental advocacy firm. CLF Ventures specializes in helping companies work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve social, environmental, and financial success. Its clients include power companies Aroostook Wind Energy and Amerada Hess Corporation, mining leader OMYA, and biotechnology company EnSolve Biosystems.

Based on CLF Venture’s strong client record, its current market presence, and its Board’s future strategic direction, CLF Ventures drew on Quaking Aspen’s strategic green-marketing expertise to help it develop and strategically brand its main B2B green practice area.

Environmental Defense Fund

The Environmental Defense Fund is one of the nation’s leading firms for the development of market-based sustainability solutions. EDF pioneered such innovative sustainability initiatives as banning DDT, phasing out lead in gasoline, eliminating polystyrene clamshell use at McDonald’s, implementing the market-based Clean Air Act to curb acid rain, and inventing the cap-and-trade system that was used as a template for the Kyoto Protocol (see the full and fascinating list of their accomplishments, linked above).

Quaking Aspen is proud to be retained as a sustainable-business expert by Boston’s Corporate Partnerships office of EDF. In addition, Quaking Aspen principal Asheen Phansey is actively aiding EDF research into industrial ecology case studies.

eQuilibrium Solutions Corporation

eQuilibrium developed a comprehensive suite of Enterprise Sustainability Management products and services that dramatically reduce the time and expense of managing, measuring and monitoring enterprise sustainability performance. eQ partnered with Clear Carbon Consulting to translate the renown carbon management firm’s best practices to a software-as-a-service product; eQ’s initial clients included Sears Canada and News Corporation. eQuilibrium was purchased by EnerNOC in 2009.

Quaking Aspen helped support eQuilibrium’s unique Enterprise Carbon Management (ECM) software suite by helping develop its carbon data management requirements, and other ECM content development, prior to its acquisition by EnerNOC.
